Located at 1122-1124 State St, Schenectady, NY 12304, NO.1 Chinese Restaurant operates as a chinese restaurant serving Schenectady in New York. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as delivery restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Schenectady; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 1 day a week. The most common schedule is 11 AM–10:15 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible.
